What we understand

The sansthan’s website in Udaipur is not only a description of the organisation. Linked from its own homepage is a parichay registration route: a form on the sansthan’s own domain, headed in Hindi as an application form for introduction, through which a young man or woman — or, far more often, their family — can put themselves forward to be introduced. It sits on the organisation’s site rather than on anybody else’s service, which is the whole of what makes it interesting.

The form asks for what a samaj register has always asked for: who the candidate is, their parents, gotra on both the paternal and maternal side, and the ordinary particulars of age, education, work and where the household lives. That is worth naming only because it establishes what this is — a genuine parichay entry rather than a mailing-list signup. What any family actually fills in belongs to them and to the sansthan. None of it is reproduced here, and this page cites the form rather than standing between anyone and it.

Why an organisation’s own form is not a small thing is easier to see from the family’s side than from a product’s. A household that would not type its daughter’s particulars into a commercial app will give the same particulars to a sansthan whose office is in their own city, and that is not timidity. The question being answered is not whether a website is secure; it is who there is to go and see if something goes wrong afterwards. A samaj that puts its own register online is answering that second question in the family’s favour, and no amount of engineering answers it on a stranger’s behalf.

One thing this record deliberately does not say. The form’s own heading refers to a parichay sammelan, but the two pages read for this summary — the homepage and the form itself — carried no date for a current one. So nothing here is notice of an upcoming convention, and no date is inferred from the fact that a form exists: there may be a gathering being planned, there may not, and the sansthan’s own announcements are the only place to find out. What can be stated is narrower and still worth stating: the registration path is live and published first-hand by the sansthan itself.

Match & Wed publishes Mali Sagai for the same community, which makes one thing worth saying outright: this record describes somebody else’s register, kept by somebody else, and is neither a comparison with ours nor any arrangement between us.

About this summary

Match & Wed wrote this in its own words after reading the sources listed above. It reproduces none of their text and none of their photographs, and any figure here is what a source reported rather than something we counted. Where the sources disagree or leave something unclear, this page says so instead of choosing.

Match & Wed has no partnership with, sponsorship from, or endorsement by Mali Samaj Panchayat Sansthan, Udaipur, and describing this activity is not a recommendation to take part in it. Anything about attending, registering or paying is between a family and the organisers, and their own announcements are the authority — not this page.

If anything here is wrong or out of date, write to us and we will correct or remove it, with the correction shown on this page and dated.
